What Is The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program is a way to immigrate to Canada. There are different streams for different candidates who want to apply for Permanent Resident in Canada. In which there is a stream for students which calls the new International Education Stream (IES), this stream is for Manitoba graduates is dedicated to providing international students graduating in Manitoba and meeting the needs of industry faster pathways to nomination.
There are three pathways:
- Career Employment Pathway : provides faster nomination pathways for post-secondary students who graduate and find long-term employment in Manitoba in an in-demand occupation consistent with their training. If you meet these conditions, you will be eligible to apply to the MPNP immediately after graduating and obtaining the job offer.
- Graduate Internship Pathway : provides faster nomination pathways for international student master and doctoral graduates through internships contributing to industry innovation in Manitoba. Graduates who complete an Accelerate or Elevate internship with Mitacs in Manitoba can apply to the MPNP immediately after graduation, whether or not they have a job offer.
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot : will provide up to 20 (per calendar year) international students who have graduated in Manitoba the opportunity to pursue entrepreneurship rather than employment. Once the applicant meets the conditions of their Business Performance Agreement, they are nominated for permanent residence.

Candidates must have a full-time job offer from an eligible Manitoba employer, with a minimum 1-year contract on Manitoba’s published In-Demand Occupations list that is consistent with your completed program of studies in Manitoba.You must be working full-time in MB at the time your application is assessed. Note: The MPNP may impose program or occupation-specific limits. Manitoba Degree-program Graduates qualify provided they have a job offer in any NOC 0,A,B on the in-demand list. |

Settlement Funds |
Candidates must demonstrate liquid funds equivalent to Low Income Cut-Off (LICO) requirements for independent financial resources for a six-month period. OR Must be employed in a full-time, long-term position in Manitoba. |

Adaptability |
Applicants must be residing in Manitoba at the time of application. Applicants must show the intent to continue to reside in Manitoba after nomination, including the submission of a Career Employment Plan demonstrating opportunities for a successful career track in Manitoba. |
International students who lost or want to change employment must inform the MPNP. Each case will be reviewed and given consideration. There are no set rules or guidelines as there may be a number of reasons that an international student may lose or need to change employment. It is best to contact the MPNP to discuss your situation to determine the best course of action.
Candidates must also be eligible to apply to the MPNP.

How To Apply The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
Step 1: Meet all requirements of the chosen stream
Step 2: Apply through MPNP Online
The MPNP will assess your application based on how well the documents you provide demonstrate that you meet program criteria, and your ability and intention to successfully establish in Manitoba as an economic immigrant and settle in the province as a permanent resident.
Step 3: Apply for Permanent Resident Visa
After being nominated by MPNP, candidates must then submit a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent resident visa. CIC, which has the sole authority for Canada visas, will review that file and complete health, security and criminal background checks.
