What Is The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)?

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a way to immigrate to Canada. Through the SINP, the Province of Saskatchewan:

  • Invites residency applications from non-Canadians who want to make Saskatchewan their home
  • Nominates successful applicants to the federal government for permanent residency in Canada

The SINP is only one of the steps toward becoming a permanent resident in Saskatchewan. All approved applicants must also apply for residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Canadian Immigration Commission.

Who can apply for The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)?

The Saskatchewan Work Experience Application category is for foreign workers who: are currently working and living in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit; and would like to apply for permanent residency through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). In which Students Stream is for who:

  • Have graduated from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada.
  • Want to apply for nomination by the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
  • Meet the sub-category criteria. Criteria can change at any time, but we’ll use what was on this website when we received your complete application.

Students may apply to any of the other SINP categories, if they meet below criteria :

  • Candidate who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan or in Canada with:
    • A certificate;
    • A diploma; or
    • A degree.
  • Candidate who have applied for, and received a valid post-graduation work permit from IRCC. (Students who have graduated from an institute in Canada but not Saskatchewan)
  • Candidate who have worked for a minimum of 6 months (or 780 hours) of paid employment in Saskatchewan. Eligible types of work experience in Saskatchewan include:
    • On- campus;
    • Off-campus;
    • Co-op terms;
    • Graduate fellowships that can be verified by your institution; and
    • Work experience gained on a post-graduate work permit.
  • Or candidate who have worked after graduation with a post-grad work permit for at least six consecutive months (minimum 780 hours) of paid employment in Saskatchewan in a position related to your field of study. (Students who have graduated from an institute in Canada but not Saskatchewan)
    • Eligible types of work experience in Saskatchewan include work experience gained on a post-graduate work permit.
  • You currently hold a valid post-graduation work permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
  • You have a current, permanent, full-time job offer in your field of study from a Saskatchewan employer. The job should be:
    • In an occupation in the National Occupation Classification (NOC) Matrix level “A”, “B”, “0” or
    • In a designated trade, or
    • A job offer that is related to your field of study and requires post-secondary education.
      • Food and Beverage Servers/Persons must apply under the Hospitality Sector Project sub-category.
  • You have a valid SINP Job Approval Letter.
  • You must have a minimum language score of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 if your job offer is in a NOC “C” occupation.

The federal government sets the amount of nominations the SINP can make every year. The SINP also accepts a maximum number of applications each year. No application is guaranteed to be accepted and/or nominated.

How To Apply The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

Step 1: Meet The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program Requirements

Plan to choose the right category to apply for The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. Candidates need to make sure that they meet criteria of the chosen sub-categories.

Step 2: Complete Document Checklist and the required forms

  • Obtain all the required documents. Complete the required provincial and federal forms and any other federal forms that apply to candidate’s situation.
  • Review and organize all completed forms and supporting documents to ensure a complete application package.

Step 3: Apply for The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program

  • Apply at SINP Apply Online when received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) as an EOI candidate, candidates must login using the same account that they created for their EOI profile. If they are applying with a job offer, they’ll need to create an account.
  • Complete the different sections of the online application. Keep the originals for records.
  • Application may be rejected if documents are: missing; not translated; or unclear

Step 4: Apply for Permanent Resident after being approved for Nomination

  • Candidates who are not eligible for immigration will be informed. Candidates may apply again at a later date if situation changes and they meet the requirements.
  • If candidates are approved for immigration under the SINP, they be nominated to the federal government for permanent residency status.

Step 5: Receive PR and settle down

After successful apply and become a Permanent Residents, applicant can start to apply for benefits that offer for Permanent Residents and their family.
